The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) celebrated the city's achievements, with its chairman, Peter Lam, expressing pride in Hong Kong's dining scene. "This international award recognises the outstanding achievements of the culinary sector," Lam stated. The city boasts over 200 restaurants listed in prestigious guides such as the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2026 and The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide.
Danny Yip, owner of The Chairman, expressed his delight at being named the best restaurant in Asia for the second time. "This recognition reflects the depth and diversity that define Hong Kong's dining culture today," Yip said.
Hong Kong's culinary scene continues to thrive, with ten restaurants featured in the top 100 of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list. The city also saw an increase in entries in the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide, with 39 establishments now listed, including four newcomers.
