Miral, the creator of immersive destinations in Abu Dhabi, has announced the expansion of Yas Waterworld Yas Island, set to open on 4 April 2026. This development introduces 11 new slides and attractions, enhancing the park's offerings to over 70 experiences. The expansion is part of the waterpark's 'Lost City' theme, inspired by 'The Legend of The Lost Pearl'.
Among the new attractions is Matamir's Drop, the UAE's tallest waterslide, featuring a dramatic 40-metre plunge and a 233-metre slide run. Other highlights include Sahel Matamir, a freefall tube racer, and Matamir Loop, a high-speed body slide. Matamir Twist offers a ride with immersive lighting effects, whilst Matamir Splash provides a competitive mat racing experience.
