Vorapat Chutima, a notable figure in Thailand's hospitality and tourism sector, has been appointed as the President of Skål International Thailand for 2026. Officially taking office in January, Chutima, also known as Khun Karb, previously served as President of Skål International Chiang Mai. He is committed to strengthening ties with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and other tourism organisations to support member businesses and foster cooperation among clubs in Bangkok, Koh Samui, Krabi, and Phuket.
Chutima, who is also a PhD candidate at Chiang Mai University, emphasised the need for Skål to remain relevant in a rapidly changing world. "Skål International is a membership platform for like-minded industry professionals to share their experience and contacts," he stated, highlighting plans to introduce creative events appealing to new generations in the travel and hospitality sectors.
He also expressed support for Thailand's strategy to diversify its tourism offerings beyond traditional attractions, aiming to tap into new markets amidst a slowdown from China. "I would personally like to see Skål Thailand become more visible amongst key decision makers," Chutima added, underscoring the organisation's mission to be a "Trusted Voice in Tourism."
Skål International Thailand is part of a global network of over 12,500 tourism professionals across 75 countries, dedicated to promoting sustainable travel and fostering international friendships
