Travelsoft Pay has announced a strategic partnership with Mastercard to develop a secure and scalable payments infrastructure tailored for the global travel industry. This collaboration combines Mastercard's technology with Travelsoft Group's 25 years of expertise, aiming to streamline B2B travel payments and enhance operational workflows.
The partnership will see Travelsoft Pay leveraging Mastercard's Wholesale Programme, which has been simplifying B2B payments for over a decade. This programme uses virtual card numbers to facilitate secure and flexible payments for travel intermediaries. Christian Sabbagh, CEO of Travelsoft Group, stated, “By combining Mastercard’s world-class technology with Travelsoft Pay’s API-first platform, we are ensuring that every buyer, supplier, and traveller can transact safely, smoothly, and confidently.”
Travelsoft Pay's platform is designed to automate pay-ins and pay-outs, reduce complexity, and provide transparency and control for travel companies. Mary Cotugno, Managing Director at Travelsoft Pay, highlighted the platform's capabilities, saying, “We are building a cloud-native, modular platform integrated seamlessly with Travelsoft travel systems, using Mastercard’s technology to automate, scale, and modernise how money moves across borders.”
The partnership promises to improve supplier payments, ensuring funds are protected and delivered efficiently, whilst supporting liquidity management across multiple countries and currencies. Chiara Quaia, Senior Vice President of B2B Travel at Mastercard, noted, “Our partnership is eliminating friction through empowering the entire value chain — from booking to final settlement.”
