Pan Pacific Hotels earn GSTC multi-site certification in Malaysia

Certification follows recent multisite certification of properties in Singapore, Australia, Jakarta, and London

Pan Pacific Hotels announced that its Malaysia properties have been certified under the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Hotel Multi-site Certification, following a comprehensive independent audit by Control Union Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

The certified properties are PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur, Pan Pacific Serviced  Suites Kuala Lumpur, PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur, PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort, and  PARKROYAL Penang Resort.

Commenting on the achievement, Pan Pacific Hotels’ country general manager for Malaysia Allan Wong remarked: “This GSTC Hotel Multi-site Certification is a significant milestone for our Malaysia properties. It reflects the  dedication and shared commitment of our teams across all 5 properties to operate responsibly, reduces our environmental footprint, and creates positive impact for the communities we serve, while  delivering meaningful and sustainable guest experiences.”

GSTC chief executive Randy Durband likewise stated: “We congratulate Pan Pacific Hotels Group on the certification of all their properties in Malaysia, marking an important milestone in their sustainability journey. Achieving GSTC Certification through an Accredited Certification Body demonstrates a clear commitment to responsible tourism, advancing sustainability across the hospitality sector.”

The certification is a global benchmark for sustainability in travel and tourism with focus on four key  pillars: effective sustainability planning, maximising social and economic benefits for local  communities, safeguarding cultural heritage, and minimising negative environmental impact.

The  GSTC Hotel Standards enable hospitality portfolios to implement consistent sustainability governance  across multiple properties while allowing each hotel to address its unique local environmental and  community priorities.
