Series by Marriott has officially launched its first hotel in Japan with the opening of the Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi. Located in the bustling Shinsaibashi district, the 256-room hotel aims to offer travellers an authentic local experience through its distinctive design and curated experiences rooted in Osaka's culture.
Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer for Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, highlighted the significance of this opening. "Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi beautifully captures the character of Osaka and demonstrates how thoughtful design and local storytelling can create meaningful experiences for travellers," he said.
The hotel is strategically positioned within walking distance of key attractions such as Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street and Dotonbori, providing guests with easy access to shopping, dining, and cultural experiences. It is also conveniently located 300 metres from Shinsaibashi Station, offering seamless connectivity across Osaka.
The design of Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi is inspired by the Japanese concept of 'sugata', which encompasses presence and character. The interiors feature natural materials and art panels that reflect the local environment, creating a serene atmosphere amidst the vibrant urban setting.
