ManpowerGroup Greater China, Beacon Group, FGA Trust, and Payment Asia have joined forces to launch the Talent in HK Youth and Family Life Service Security Programme. Announced on 25 March, this initiative seeks to provide international students in Hong Kong with a robust support system, addressing both educational and life service needs.
The programme is designed to create a transparent and collaborative ecosystem, offering end-to-end protection from education to career consultancy. As Hong Kong continues to attract top-tier students globally, the initiative aims to mitigate challenges faced by non-local students, such as cultural adaptation and financial security, amidst rising scams targeting this demographic.
Beacon Group will offer a long-term study plan, including customised education admissions services, whilst ManpowerGroup will facilitate internships and career development. Payment Asia will ensure secure financial transactions, with FGA Trust overseeing the financial management through dedicated project accounts.
The programme's website is set to launch in mid-April, with applications opening in May. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to Hong Kong's economy, with non-local students already contributing over $1.28 billion (HK$10 billion) in tuition fees annually.
Lancy Chui of ManpowerGroup emphasised the importance of career planning for non-local graduates, stating, "We can reduce uncertainty during their transition into the local workforce." June Leung of Beacon Group highlighted the programme's role in integrating academic support with life security, whilst Helen Chen of FGA Trust noted its potential to transform international talent into a long-term driver for Hong Kong's development
