GOL Linhas Aéreas, Brazil's most punctual airline, has announced the launch of new nonstop flights between Rio de Janeiro's RIOgaleão International Airport and Orlando International Airport. This service, set to be operated by an Airbus A330, will accommodate nearly 300 passengers and marks a significant expansion in GOL's international offerings.
Previously, GOL's nonstop flights to Orlando were limited to departures from Fortaleza and Brasília, utilising Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The new Rio-Orlando route will add four weekly connections, providing passengers with more options and a larger aircraft. This announcement follows GOL's recent introduction of flights between Rio and New York's JFK, making Orlando the second US destination to feature the Airbus A330.
Passengers on the new route can enjoy GOL's Business INSIGNIA class, which includes fully flat beds, premium amenity kits, and access to exclusive lounges. The onboard dining experience is curated by two-Michelin-starred Brazilian chef Felipe Bronze, offering a three-course menu that highlights traditional Brazilian techniques and ingredients.
Additionally, the introduction of the Airbus A330 for intercontinental flights enhances GOLLOG, GOL's logistics unit, by establishing a new cargo hub. This expansion allows for approximately 20 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight, offering customers a wider range of logistics solutions.
GOL's expanded services through RIOgaleão International Airport, a major hub, connect passengers to over 30 destinations, including five international routes across Latin America, supporting tourism and business opportunities in the region
