Embraer partners with UAE’s Generation 5 for C-390 programme

Embraer, a leader in the aerospace industry, has entered into an exclusive strategic partnership with Generation 5 Holding, a UAE-based defence and technology firm, to advance the C-390 Millennium programme in the United Arab Emirates. The agreement, signed on 4 May at the Make It in the Emirates 2026 platform in Abu Dhabi, aims to bolster maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities and after-sales support for the C-390 aircraft in the UAE and the broader Middle East.

The collaboration between Embraer and Generation 5 Holding will focus on ensuring mission readiness and long-term fleet sustainability for regional operators. It also includes opportunities for industrial and supply chain integration, as well as training programmes for technical, maintenance, and operational personnel. This initiative is expected to facilitate knowledge transfer and workforce development in the region.

Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director of Generation 5 Holding, emphasised the significance of the partnership, stating, “This agreement with Embraer... reflects our long-term commitment to strengthening defence industrial capabilities, particularly in the areas of maintenance, repair, and training in the UAE.”

Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defence & Security, highlighted the importance of the partnership, noting, “By partnering with Generation 5... we are consolidating a broad scope of cooperation enabling the delivery of world-class support, training, and industrial participation for the C-390 programme in the UAE.”

The C-390 Millennium is renowned for its versatility and operational efficiency, capable of carrying 26 tonnes and performing various missions, including cargo transport, medical evacuation, and firefighting. The agreement marks a strategic advancement for both companies, with full implementation expected following the completion of specific conditions
