Contour Airlines has announced the launch of its first commercial air service in Ruidoso, New Mexico, with nonstop flights to Denver, Colorado, starting 25 June 2026. This marks a significant milestone for Ruidoso as it connects to the national commercial air network for the first time, offering residents and visitors unprecedented convenience and connectivity.
The new service will operate from Sierra Blanca Regional Airport to Denver International Airport, one of the largest aviation hubs in the United States. This connection will enable travellers from Ruidoso to access destinations across the country and beyond, whilst also facilitating easier access for visitors to explore Ruidoso's outdoor recreation, ski slopes, horse racing, and vibrant arts scene.
Ben Munson, President of Contour Airlines, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, "This new nonstop route to Denver not only transforms how the community connects to the rest of the country but also opens the door for more visitors to experience everything Ruidoso has to offer."
Mayor Lynn Crawford of Ruidoso highlighted the economic benefits, noting, "Tourism is the lifeblood of Ruidoso. When we make it easier for visitors to get here, we make it easier for our community to thrive."
Contour Airlines will operate the service using a 30-seat regional jet, offering extra legroom and complimentary snacks and beverages. Flights will run on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, departing Denver at 3:05 PM and arriving in Ruidoso at 4:45 PM, with the return flight leaving Ruidoso at 5:15 PM and arriving in Denver at 6:55 PM.
