Civitatis, the leading platform for guided tours and excursions in Spanish and Portuguese, has announced a significant expansion in Latin America by establishing new operational hubs in Mexico City, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires. This move aims to capitalise on the region's rapid tourism growth, which is currently outpacing the broader industry with an 8% annual increase, compared to 5% for the overall tourism sector.
The new hubs will serve as regional growth engines, with the Mexico hub focusing on North and Central America, the Brazil hub catering to the Portuguese-speaking market, and the Buenos Aires hub managing the rest of South America. This strategic restructuring is expected to help Civitatis maintain a growth rate above 30% by 2026.
Andrés Spitzer, CEO of Civitatis, emphasised the importance of Latin America, stating, "Latin America is our top strategic priority and the world’s second-fastest-growing tourism region. Our new hub structure is designed to optimise operations, deepen alliances, and scale our presence across the continent to create Perfect Memories for every traveller."
The company has also established a regional leadership team to coordinate business development and institutional relations. Juan Rossello will lead the Central and North America markets from Mexico, Alexandre Oliveira will head Brazil, and Nicolás Posse will oversee South America from Buenos Aires.
Civitatis aims to transform the fragmented experiences sector into a curated offering, leveraging record air connectivity and digital consumption trends. With over 1.2 million travellers booking through Civitatis monthly, the company continues to strengthen its position as a market leader in Spain and Latin America
