BCD appoints James Diaz to lead UK and Ireland sales

BCD Travel has announced the appointment of James Diaz as vice president of Sales for the UK and Ireland, effective from 16 February. Diaz, who brings nearly 25 years of experience in the travel industry, will spearhead efforts to boost BCD's market presence and expand into high-potential segments in the region.

Diaz's extensive background includes roles in ground transportation, payments, and travel management company environments. Notably, he was the UK CEO of Travel Planet before founding Absolute Travel Management, a start-up focused on small and medium-sized enterprises. His experience aligns with BCD's client-first approach and long-term partnership focus. "I see growing demand for integrated, end-to-end travel solutions that combine technology with service," Diaz stated, expressing enthusiasm for his new role.

The UK and Ireland represent the second largest travel market in Europe, offering significant growth opportunities for BCD, which has maintained a strong presence in the region since 2006. The company serves approximately 500 customers across various sectors, including media, financial services, and retail. Diaz's appointment supports BCD's ambition to expand its UK footprint by 2030.

Claudia Jackson, BCD's managing director for the UK and Ireland, highlighted Diaz's ability to translate strategy into tangible results, stating, "James understands how to translate strategy into real-world results for customers." Lisa McKenzie, senior vice president of Global Sales for EMEA at BCD, added, "James brings deep industry knowledge, strong commercial leadership, and a proven ability to advocate for corporate travel needs."

Diaz will report to McKenzie and will be based in London, where he will lead a regional team to drive sustainable growth and innovation in the UK and Ireland markets
