The Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) successfully launched its first "She Shines Reset Day" on 17 March 2026 at Shoreditch Treehouse, gathering 60 women from the travel industry. The event, held in partnership with Visit Malta, aimed to foster personal growth, wellbeing, and genuine connections, moving away from traditional networking.
The day featured a series of inspiring speakers and panellists, including Saira Khan from First Direct, Rachel O'Reilly from DERTOUR UK, and Helen Roberts, a leadership coach. These speakers shared personal insights and experiences, encouraging open dialogue and a sense of community. Discussions covered resilience, setting boundaries, embracing authenticity, and practical skills for career changes and personal finances.
Michelle Leverick, Chair of AWTE, stated, "'She Shines Reset Day' was created to give women the space to pause, reflect and truly reconnect—with themselves, their goals and their community." She expressed hope that participants left feeling recharged and supported.
AWTE, founded in 1954, continues to support women in the travel industry through initiatives like She Shines, which emphasise confidence, connection, and personal growth alongside professional development. Following the success of this event, AWTE plans to expand its offerings with more events and programmes to support its growing community
