Star Alliance has launched a new Star Connection Centre at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), enhancing its ability to facilitate seamless multiairline connections at one of its busiest transfer hubs in North America. With over 350,000 passengers connecting between Star Alliance member airlines at LAX annually, the centre is crucial for ensuring smooth transitions for travellers.
The Star Connection Centre is designed to assist passengers with tight connections between flights operated by different Star Alliance member airlines. It proactively identifies those at risk of missing their onward flights due to delays and expedites their transfer. "Every moment matters when connections are tight, and our goal is to make multiairline journeys feel seamless," said Ambar Franco, Vice President of Customer Experience at Star Alliance.
Behind the scenes, dedicated agents use specialised software to monitor transfer windows, coordinating support by meeting passengers at arrival gates and guiding them to their next flights. This initiative underscores Star Alliance's commitment to delivering a smooth experience across its global network.
The Los Angeles centre joins a network of Star Connection Centres worldwide, including locations in Brussels, Chicago, Frankfurt, and Toronto. Additionally, baggage-focused centres operate in Houston, Newark, Washington Dulles, and San Francisco.
Currently, 16 Star Alliance member airlines operate at LAX, offering more than 2,000 weekly flights to over 80 destinations across 20 countries. Established in 1997, Star Alliance remains the largest global airline network, emphasising customer experience and seamless service
