IHCL signs new Taj hotel in Patna

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India's largest hospitality firm, has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel in Patna, Bihar. This greenfield project is set to enhance the city's appeal as a destination for business and leisure travel. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, highlighted Patna's rapid growth and potential for large conventions and business travel, stating that the new hotel will bolster IHCL's presence in Bihar.

The 500-room Taj Patna will be strategically located opposite Gandhi Maidan, with the River Ganges to the north. Guests will have access to an all-day dining restaurant, two speciality restaurants, a lobby lounge, a temperature-controlled swimming pool, a fitness centre, and the signature J Wellness Circle spa. The hotel will also feature a 16,000 square foot ballroom and multiple meeting spaces, making it ideal for conferences and social events.

Nityanand Sonthalia, Director of Patliputra Palace Pvt. Ltd., expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with IHCL, noting that the development signals Bihar's readiness for world-class infrastructure and premium developments. With this addition, IHCL will operate seven hotels in Bihar, including four under development.

Patna, one of India's oldest cities, serves as a gateway to Bihar's historic and cultural sites, including landmarks like Gandhi Maidan and Gol Ghar. The new Taj hotel aims to cater to the growing demand for high-quality hospitality in the region
